Is Black Friday the best time to buy a TV?
Black Friday is one window for a lower TV price, and the evidence shows other times of year match it. Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday on Monday, November 30.
Which? reported in November 2025 that 83% of the Black Friday 2024 products it tracked were the same price or cheaper at another time of the year. None of the 175 products were at their yearly low only on Black Friday. Our post Is Black Friday actually cheaper? looks at that study next to 20 US gift prices logged on October 29, 2026.
On Reddit, people in r/LGOLED and r/4kTV argue over two approaches: wait for Black Friday, or buy when a model hits a price they like. Some also ask whether TVs sold only for Black Friday cut corners. If a deal names a model number you have not seen before, compare it with the regular model before you pay.
What TV prices look like before Black Friday
Seven of the nine TVs we rechecked held their price or got cheaper between October 28 and November 5, 2026, and two jumped.
Online US prices, tax not included, checked November 5, 2026
The three that fell: - The 55-inch TCL QM6K Mini-LED went from $499.99 to $479.00 at Cityhome. Micro Center still had it at $499.99 and RC Willey at $549.99. - The 85-inch Hisense U7 Mini-LED went from $747.99 to $647.99 at P.C. Richard & Son, the only store that came back. - The 55-inch LG C6 OLED went from $1,399.99 to $999.00 at Cityhome, again the only store that came back. The Verge reported about $1,000 for this TV on October 24, 2026. That is its own figure, not ours.
Two prices look backwards. The 55-inch Hisense U7 now costs $652.00 more than the 85-inch U7. It was $1,299.99 at Best Buy, up from $579.99, and Best Buy gave the only offer. The 77-inch LG B5 doubled to $2,999.99, also at Best Buy with one store returned. When only one store answers, the lowest price is that store's price. Check the other stores before you treat it as the going rate.

Should you buy a TV now or wait until January?
It depends on where your model sits against a price you have already seen. If it is one of the three that fell, the November 5 price beats October 28. If it is one that rose, the October 28 price shows what the same listing cost a week earlier.
Sales calendars also point to late January and early February, around the Super Bowl. The next Super Bowl falls in February 2027. Which? found most Black Friday prices at other times of the year too. A simple plan is to write down today's price, check again on November 27 and November 30, and look once more in late January.
How we checked
On November 5, 2026 Divux rechecked online prices for the same TV listings logged on October 28 in Black Friday TV deals. Each price is the lowest new offer returned for US delivery, without tax, and the store's checkout price is the one that counts. Some models returned only one store. You can look up other models on the shopper page.
